Today marks the 2 months since my surgery. I finally decided to do the surgery because found what I wanted. I didn’t want to be cut and I wanted to do it because my diabetes was out of control. Before the surgery I was taking 70 units of insulin in the morning and 100 units at night and metformin 2000 milligrams. I was so sad that at times I felt depressed because I was not able to control it. No matter what I ate it will still be high in the mornings. At my heaviest, I was 270 pounds. One day while looking on Facebook I found out about the new procedure and I started to do a little research. So I decided that I would do this. My insurance didn’t cover it because it is a new procedure and there is not enough research done on it I was told. Once I decided to do it, I was connected to the nutritionist, Linda and she started advising me on what to do. By the time I went for the surgery I was already 254.8 pounds. Surgery was in June 11th. So since then I am no longer taking insulin and hope to soon also stop taking metformin. My labs as if 8/10/2021 are remarkable, triglycerides are 101, and it was 478 before the surgery A1c was 6.6 and it was 7.9 my blood pressure was 119/67 as yesterday. I am so overjoyed. And as of today, my weight is 220.1 pounds. So I have lost 43.7 pounds in 2 months. Thank you to Dr Bustamantes and the entire crew (and I say crew because I don’t want to miss anyone) for a great job and for changing peoples lives.
